The best way to learn a language for work is to practice the conversations you'll actually have at work.

I started writing bilingual scripts for common office scenarios — debugging a bug, attending standup, asking for code review. Each line has the Japanese text, the reading, and the English translation. I practiced them out loud until they felt natural.

Why This Works

Textbook dialogues teach you how to order food or ask for directions. Useful, but not what you say most days as a developer. These scripts gave me the vocabulary and sentence patterns for actual working conversations — and they built my speaking confidence faster than any app ever did.
